The Embroiderers’ Guild and Embroidery – The Textile Art magazine Design and Innovation Associate Award was awarded by Anthea Godfrey, Artistic Director at EG to Madelaine Rose Walker for her Urban Sirens work inspired by the Cornish folklore tale The Mermaid of Zennor, re-imagining myth through contemporary embroidery with the theme of memory and archive.
Interesting to see Cornelia Parker (RA) involved, further raising the profile of embroidery as a fine art medium.
